Service Opportunities

Backpack collection - The Buddy Bags Program at SA is in need of new backpacks to distribute food. Can you help? Watch the back to school sales!  Large, sturdy backpacks work the best for this program. Donations can be put in the red box outside the Children’s Ministry office. Food distribution will begin on Friday the first week of school (August 18).

Serve lunch at the Crossing - If you (or your small group/Sunday school class) are interested in serving lunch to the kids at the Crossing for one of their Friday lunches this fall, please contact Darren Kloepper.

On Wednesday, September, 27th , at Swiss Village, we will be holding our annual healthcare walk. This is a time that we can celebrate our residents and enjoy time together on a walk outside. Since all the residents will be in wheelchairs it takes many hands to make this event possible. We would like to invite you and your church members to help make this walk possible. The walk will begin at 10:30 a.m. so we are asking all volunteers to arrive by 10:15 a.m. We will walk up Forest Park Drive, over to the Fire Station, and then back down Village Way to Swiss Village. After the walk, you are invited to participate in a free sack lunch with the resident that you just walked with in the auditorium. You will be done after lunch, around 12:30. All volunteers pushing wheelchairs must be 12 years of age or older. If you are interested in helping or would like more information, please contact Jen Lehman, Director of Development & Volunteers, at (260) 589-4529 or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Thank you for helping to make this a special day for all of the residents who live in healthcare!
