Senior Trips Planned

Mennonite Seniors will be taking two trips again this year, 2019. The first trip is on Thursday, April 11, at LaComedia Dinner Theatre, Springboro, Ohio, just south of Dayton. We will be attending a matinee performance of “Joseph.” Joseph…is one of the most popular shows LaComedia ever produced, and they are bringing it back for the first time in ten years. Set to an abundance of musical styles, this Old Testament tale has something for everyone. The cost includes transportation by motor coach, buffet luncheon and the performance. A stop at Culver’s, on the return trip home, is not included in the per person cost. The coach will be leaving the east parking lot at 8:30 a.m. and arriving in Berne at 6:00 p.m. The cost is $67.00 per person. Hopefully, First Mennonite Church attendees will fill the coach for this trip. Reservations are currently being accepted. The second trip is being planned to Springfield, Illinois and Quad Cities, Illinois and Iowa. We will be leaving Berne, Monday, September 16, and arriving back home on Friday, September 20. Highlights of this enjoyable week will include numerous Abraham Lincoln historical sites, including the presidential museum, old state capitol, current state capitol, and Lincoln’s tomb. Visiting the Quad Cities will include a visit to a taste of Broadway, Circa’21 Dinner Playhouse for a performance of Singin’ in the Rain, a four hour Mississippi River cruise with Celebration River Cruises with Classic Oldies music, a visit to the John Deere Pavilion, which will provide insights into the man, company, and how agriculture feeds the world; shopping, great eating, and fellowship. The trip will again have two motor coaches and will include other Berne and area friends. More details will follow shortly by electronic mail.
